About Me
My name is Lotta, and I am currently studying to become a certified professional dog trainer and psychologist. I am deeply passionate about helping dogs and their humans live in harmony. Additionally, I am pursuing certification as an STSK9 MVP trainer, focusing on handler and dog development from two totally different perspectives (Master View). This lets me focus on my skills completely differently, enabling me to transfer my learned skills onto You and your dog.
With over 25 years of experience in coaching, leadership, education, and health, I bring a holistic approach to dog training. My background includes a Master’s degree in Didactics and a Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy, and I am an ICF-certified coach. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Health and Nutrition and have extensive experience working with individuals and companies to improve overall well-being. Since starting my own business in 2006, I have been fortunate to work in a field I love, continuously growing and learning daily.
While I am not a dog expert with decades of experience owning multiple dogs, I have always been deeply interested in animals and grew up surrounded by them. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. However, my path led me to help and educate humans instead.
My journey with dogs began when I got my first dog, a bearded collie named Chester. Sadly, Chester fell ill, and we only had six years together. In my twenties, I developed a strong interest in the rottweiler breed. However, the timing wasn’t right for me to own a dog, especially one that required significant time and training. Almost three decades later, when I had finished my studies, my children had grown up, and my work no longer demanded travel, I was finally ready. In May 2023, I welcomed my rottweiler, Ecco, into my life.
Initially, everything seemed "simple" with a puppy. Ecco was with me everywhere, calm, adaptable, and quick to learn commands and obedience. Then, gradually, things changed when he entered puberty. He became wary of the dark, certain sounds and things he saw, and he began to react to some dogs and people—though not everyone, making his reactions unpredictable. I sometimes felt like a bad dog owner, even though his obedience training went very well. His reactivity, however, didn’t improve, which led me to realize I needed to understand the "why" behind his behavior to help him effectively.
I sought help from private trainers and a dog psychologist and began educating myself. I quickly realized there was so much to learn— and so much science behind canine behavior. I became hooked and enrolled in a professional school to become a dog psychologist and trainer.
And that’s where we are now. Ecco and I have come a long way in a short time, though there is still much to learn and practice. Throughout my years, I have learned that we should always be open to new learning and that there are no failures, only experiences. These experiences can be adjusted and turned into success if we are willing to put in the work.
I initially felt alone and a bit ashamed, thinking I was the only one facing these challenges. However, I soon realized that many dog owners experience similar struggles with reactivity or other behaviors. It's important to remember that a reactive or stressed dog isn't acting out to upset us; they're responding to their environment in the only way they know how.
My journey began with helping Ecco and myself, and it has evolved into a mission to support other dogs and their owners—whether you're dealing with specific behavioral challenges or seeking to enhance your dog's training and understanding. I will offer various services, from foundational obedience training to specialized workshops on canine behavior, breed knowledge, and health ABC, all built on a solid foundation of knowledge grounded in science and experience.
While I am committed to ongoing learning and growth, I bring practical, compassionate guidance to help You and your dog thrive. Together, we can create a harmonious life for You and your canine companion, building stronger bonds and a deeper understanding of every step and paw.
